By Estelle Botton Sophia wanted to be a singer. She practiced and practiced. She was very nervous. When she tried out, everyone laughed at her. She was so sad. The next week there were tryouts for a solo in the school play. When she went to tryout, everyone laughed. But when she sang, she sounded great. So she got a solo. A month later she was in the play and she was great. Everyone clapped and cheered for her. She was so happy that she decided to tryout again. She learned that next time she failed, she would try again.
