Take more risks, get more rewards – CLICK TO COMMENT

By Natalie Mizrahi  Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or threat. Fear is responsible for holding people back. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself (Franklin D. Roosevelt.) With this attitude, we can accomplish anything we put our minds to. Being kids, there are many people who degrade and belittle us and damage our confidence making us feel like such a small voice in this big world.     As we get older, we will continue to encounter people like this. We cannot allow the fear to get to us. Fear stunts our growth causing us to not reach our fullest potential.

It is important that we know our place in this world and welcome challenge. It isn’t until we challenge ourselves and take risks that we know all that we’re capable of. This year, I was asked to join the honors program. This thought scared me. Me? In an honors class? If you would have told me two years ago I would be offered this opportunity, I would have laughed. At the end of the day I decided if I didn’t join, I wouldn’t know what I am truly capable of. It is also important to surround yourself with people who will challenge you and force you to look fear in the eye. After all, who would Steve Jobs or Walt Disney be if they hadn’t faced fear at least once in their life.
